This is a wonderful 11" by 11 1/2" print of the lyrics to the song "A Pirates Life for Me" from the Disneyland attraction - Pirates of the Caribbean-written by veteran Disney animator, WED Imagineer, and Disney Legend, Xavier "X" Atencio.It has been matted in a wonderful, mottled, copper-colored mat to an 11" by 14" size. It comes with an acid- free backing board as well to protect the print. What makes it even more special is that it has been autographed by Xavier "X" Atencio . This is an original autograph, not a copy and comes with a certificate of authenticity .
For those not familiar with Xavier or "X" as he is called by his friends, he began his career in l938 as an "inbetweener" on Pinocchio and as an assistant animator on Fantasia. He later became an animator on short subjects which included the Academy Award winning "Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom."
In 1965, X moved to WED Enterprises at the request of Walt Disney. Walt asked him to write the dialogue and lyrics for the "Pirates of the Caribbean." The first lyrics he wrote was to the now famous song,"Yo Ho A Pirates Life for Me". (George Bruns wrote the music.) He followed that up by teaming with musician/director Buddy Baker in his next successful song, "Grim, Grinning Ghosts" for the Haunted Mansion.
Xavier retired in l984 and was named a Disney legend in l996.
